“If you ever want to give a friend a disc that will cement his or her love for the guitar, this is a perfect candidate”
Kondonassis is an amazing harpist with perfect technique and a pure, limpid tone that consistently seduces the ear. She handles the wildest flights of contemporary virtuosity with ease.

Yet Kondonassis most often approaches the music she plays for its expressive sublimity and musicality, rather than for its showiness, so even though the brilliance of her technique is always apparent, much of the music of the program is quiet and atmospheric.

With the Angeli Ensemble, American cellist Lynn Harrell’s cello concerti collection brings together relatively popular pieces with some obscure baroque and early Classical period curiosities... Harrell’s clean renderings are a great match for the material. The disc’s most interesting stuff comes last, with a dozen of Couperin’s diminutive “Pièces en Concert.”
