Holly Hofmann

Holly Hofmann has established herself as a prime exponent of the jazz flute legacy. Her improvisations, folded into colorful tunes, embody emotions, ideas, and her own personal creativity and style.

With a rich classical background and trail of heralded performances, Hofmann's focus on jazz smoothly and advantageously connects the two idioms. This blend of experience merges her classical acumen with her high jazz chops, mixing an enviable technical mastery with her versatility, native fire, and keen discretion. In all of Hofmann's music-making, she combines rigorous discipline with open freedom, drawing from her powerful commmand and clear reading as the structural architecture is set and tethering freedom to her alert respect for the jazz tradition.
